My name is Sonia Edwards and I'm a dogaholic!
My professional history is a mix of administration and animal care. I was the manager of a no kill animal shelter, worked at a veterinary hospital where I did everything from reception to assisting with surgery, running lab tests, filling prescriptions and feeding the clinic cows.
After years of intrigue I finally obtained training to become a groomer through an apprenticeship and in 2011 Edwards Scissorhounds Canine Salon was born.
Animal Rescue has been important to me since before I even had a dog. Our first dog was adopted in 1998 and I have been involved with rescue ever since. In over 20 years I have never worked with a more dedicated and compassionate team. I am very proud to work alongside all the volunteers of Misfit Manor Dog Rescue.
My husband Dennis and I currently share our lives with these 3 wonderful rescue dogs!
